  • For the Cyclists in the Club: May I introduce to you a whole lot of Suffering

January 17, 2012

  • Saturday morning workouts until mid March are now from 7:30am to 9:00am. Since we must be off the deck by 8:59am! Be prompt for the start!!

  • Once again the Centre is experiencing thievery. The doors to the change rooms are going to be locked 10 minutes after our start time - please do not leave any valuables in the change rooms!

  • Tickets have gone on sale for the Canadian Olympic & Paralympic Swimming Trials - March 27 to April 1

January 12, 2012

  • Earlier today, I received a note from the NT Pool Supervisor, asking if we had any of their missing pull-buoys. I found 12 of them in our cage. The Club have their own pull-buoys and all of you know that I have repeatedly stressed not using the Centre's pull-buoys. I have a great relationship with the Centre and I attend on keeping it that way. Anyone using the Centre's pull-buoys from here on it runs the risk of losing their membership.

  • Finger Tip Paddles $18.00 and Snorkels $35.00 are in.
They are great aids in improving your swimming.
The Paddles allow for a natural feel for the water in both the catch and pull phase of freestyle. They can also be used with other strokes.
The Snorkel allows you the ability to focus on stroke technique without the interruption of turning your head to breath. Allowing for a full range of motion it can be used for all strokes. It is great for helping you to relax in the water and maintain body alignment to improve stroke efficiency.
Delivered to you on deck, by HB Doug.

  • Congratulations to Michael, Doug and even past member Katie in their swimming at the Southern California Championships. Katie - just missed winning the overall women's point total. Doug swam he usual silver medal swims - should have been a gold in the 200 Breast - but he wasn't paying attention.... always watch the heats before you...... Michael's ultra ego "Lululemon Michael B" (It's the latest wear for the non beach guys in California) swam an incredible 200 free and a respectful 50 Breast..... This after a 2 hour punishing bike ride thru the hills of Laguna. Lululeman Michael has taken warming up for a race to a new level...

Important stuff in past time.....

The suit worn by our man, helped him smash his best 50 breast time by 2 seconds.......   The Roving Reporter's LRZ2
